Driven Pile Effects on Nearby Cylindrical and Semi-Tapered Pile in Sandy Clay

A pile foundation is commonly adopted for transferring superstructure loads into the ground in weaker soil. They diminish settlement of infrastructure and augment soil-bearing capacity. This paper emphases pile-driving effect on an existing adjacent cylindrical semi-tapered pile. Driving a three-dimensional fruitfully accomplished by combining arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian (ALE) adaptive mesh element deletion methods without adopting any assumptions that would simplify simulation. Axial forces, bending moment, lateral displacement were studied neighboring already-installed An investigation was made some factors affecting forces such as spacing shape (cylindrical, tapered, or semi-tapered). important response observed impact driven nearby one, moment axial not negligible, when loaded, it recommended to consider coupling effect. Moreover, subjected less movement than one with same length volume taper angles smaller 1.0°, vice versa greater 1.4°.
